Jay-Z: Decoded

Jay-Z will be releasing his first book entitled Decoded on Tuesday, November 16th. The book decodes 36 songs from Jay-Z’s extensive catalog, hence the title. It is comprised of stories behind some of Jay’s most provocative lyrics, offering a first hand account of what shaped him as an artist into producing such powerful music.
Above is the cover of decoded, which features an image of Andy Warhol’s Rorschach. For those who do not know; A Rorschach is also known as an inkblot test, which is a psychological test where the subjects’ perception of the inkblot is analyzed using psychological interpretation to examine ones personality and characteristics. Making this a fitting illustration for the cover of this book.
After the jump is a video of Jay-Z breaking down the concept behind one of the songs featured on the book.

This is a great promo for the book Decoded, where Jay explains the thought process behind the song Most Kingz.

  1. This kinda reminds me of that other book, "How to Rap: The Art & Science of the Hip-Hop MC", that's a dope read if you haven't got it already... over 100 of the best rappers interviewed for it -
