Adele "21"

Rumor has it, Adele is presently the hottest soul singer in the music industry, but just because we said it doesn’t mean that we meant it. Take out some time to listen to her and find out if this rumor rings true or not, as far as we can hear it’s true though. It took us long enough to catch on to the sensational neo-soul artist out of the UK over here in the western hemisphere. Her first album entitled “19” was released in 2008 and it started a craze in UK, debuting at number one on the charts. The album features hits like “Chasing Pavements” and a favorite by many “Hometown Glory.” It took three years for Adele to release a sophomore effort and the long wait is obliterated by the performance Adele delivers on “21.”

Stalley "Lincoln Way Nights: Intelligent Trunk Music"

Stalley continues to be heavily slept on, despite his affiliation with Creative Control and the likes of Damon Dash, Mos Def, and Curren$y. His music is a new age of that 90’s Mos Def and Tribe Called Quest music, mainly because of his demeanor and subject matter. His intellect level, positive and uplifting lyrics on life situations makes for that revolutionary rap. Stalley stands alone, and it seems like this is how he prefers it.

Kanye West My Beautiful Twisted Dark Fantasy Review

No one man should have all this POWER: Mr. Kanye West is a truly a musical genius, he has proven so through time. From the “College Series” (College Dropout, Late Registration, & Graduation) where he solidifies his place as a legend in hip hop with 3 classic albums. To 808’s & Heartbreaks which was not a Hip-Hop album but one can clearly see the artistry, creativity, and especially the emotion invested into this album. After these albums the question was what he was going to do next? The Taylor Swift incident and his self “exile” may have been the best thing to happen to him creatively. Upon his hiatus Kanye returned to Hip-Hop with something to prove, as if he was a rookie. Ever since the release of Power this summer, the following months has no doubt been “Kanye’s Months.” What he has done for Hip-Hop since his return is superior to any comeback in the genre’s history. From the unmatched G.O.O.D. Music team he has assembled, to his highly anticipated GOOD Friday releases each week, and most of all his thought provoking short movie: Runaway. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy combined with Runaway: the short movie is an instant Masterpiece. The album title is fitting considering Beautiful, Dark, or Twisted are all words that can be used to describe the album depending on the listener’s interpretation; but the true music fan can clearly see that this album is Beautiful Dark and Twisted.

J. Cole Friday Night Lights Review

It’s been a couple days since the release of J. Cole's Friday Night Lights, and after thoroughly listening it is difficult to put in words the emotion this mixtape evokes. Not in a sense that these songs bring out strong sentimental emotions, although Cole does touch on topics that may. But in a sense that Friday Night Lights puts the listener in shear amazement at the degree of music we unexpectedly receive on a mixtape level. With the exception of Villematic, Back To The Topic, and Looking For Trouble all of the tracks on the mixtape are original tracks. This compilation is easily Classic Hip-Hop Album material and it will surely be a challenge for J. Cole to top Friday Night Lights.
