Its crazy how something that was such an important part in Hip-Hop history is lost and unknown by fans of the present. Hip-Hop nerds that are in their early 20’s and younger almost know nothing about how essential the cassette mixtape was to the art and culture that they have grown to love.
The TDK Life on Record Chronicles is a film series by photographer and director Jonathan Mannion where he captures some influential faces of music while they reminisce on the times of the cassette and creating their very own mixtapes. This particular episode of the series features Nas as he shares stories of early Hip-Hop and his cassette mixtapes.
